PLANNING APPLICATIONS

Mark Dyson Chartered Surveyors are Rural Practice Chartered Surveyors who for many years have submitted planning applications on behalf of clients in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. We are familiar with most of the Local Planning Authorities in these areas and are experienced in providing the additional reports (or can refer to other specialists) that all Planners require in order to validate most rural planning applications.

We can carry out the design and drawings in house for most proposals, for which we are asked to make planning applications and can usually offer a more cost effective service than going to a local architect.

Inevitably the work we are asked to do prioritises the gaining of residential planning consents in the open countryside. In all cases there is a presumption against new housing except for:

  • The purposes of agriculture, forestry or other rural land-based businesses

  • Conversion of Traditional Buildings

  • Holiday Accommodation
